"From the moment I enter the gates at York Downs I feel a sense of quiet comfort. The pro shop staff are courteous and always make that extra effort to make sure that I am looked after. If I am alone, they will get me a game. The fact that there are no tee times is one of the best features of the club. Show up, check in and I am usually on the tee in ten minutes. Just enough time to warm up at one of the best practice facilities in Ontario. The course is always in excellent shape and I appreciate that a sub 4 hour round is the norm. The guiding force of any club is its pro. We are lucky to have Ian Crebbin. Since his arrival he has revived a sense of community and participation that has added new life to the membership. I have to congratulate our golf course superintendent Manny Fernandes for providing all members with a superior golf experience."

"I have been fortunate to visit many golf courses over my playing career and I can honestly say that York Downs Golf and Country Club is at the top of my list when it comes to lifelong friendships and the total golf experience. The challenge of its 27 holes, the walk-ability of the course, no starting times and one of the best practice facilities in the country, in my mind, add up to a club experience second to none. My great joy at York Downs has been watching our Junior program develop into one of the finest. Its fun to see boys and girls learning golf fundamentals and perhaps more important, the life lessons that golf can offer. It is a great pleasure for me to watch them move on to become fine young players and outstanding citizens.
